Finding the "Right Fit"

Summit Education Advisors engage in a comprehensive process in helping their students find the right fit by employing the following steps:

  • Discovery is where the student expresses his or her needs and desires for a successful college experience. Discovery is completed through the process of dialogue and the completion of a college criteria worksheet, parent and student questionnaire and career assessment tools as needed.
  • Develop a list of schools using the criteria from the discovery phase as well as reported high school information to research and create a list of schools for the student and family to then review, research and accept or eliminate.
  • Define a final list of colleges, universities, and other programs as needed and will deliver these to the student along with application requirements, deadlines and needed materials, such as applications and contact information.
  • Action plans are put in place for the student to complete his/her applications, essays and collects/creates any additional materials and submits to the educational consultant for review. Once we review and edits are complete, materials are then returned to the student for submission. Any other needs such as financial aid resources, and scholarship search are also completed and addressed in this phase or earlier depending on the time of year.
  • Decision making begins as admission results roll in, we will help the student and family review all admission and financial aid/scholarship offers for final decision making for enrollment.
